European Mobility Week

From September 16 to 22,European Mobility Week is once again shining a spotlight on cities and territories this year, demonstrating the benefits of sustainability for our health, environment and economy! Not forgetting that cities that promote soft mobility are less congested, allow a better quality of life, are more attractive and develop sustainable tourism. In September, let's activate various piazzas of Italy! Maybe even yours...

European Mobility Week

European Mobility Week has now become a fixed and unmissable event for all administrations, associations and citizens who want to engage on the road to sustainability and improving the quality of life in our cities. Indeed, every year thousands of cities and millions of European citizens celebrate sustainable mobility and send a message of change and renewal of our lifestyles.

The theme of 2020

In 2020, we have reached the 19th edition. The theme is ambitious: "Zero emissions, mobility for all". So the goal is twofold: on the one hand, to become "carbon neutral" by 2050, as stated by Ursula von der Leyen, president of the European Commission, at the presentation of the European Green Deal. On the other, to undertake actions that can ensure accessibility for all: people with special needs, mobility difficulties or even economic difficulties, the elderly... Being able to use an efficient public transport system promotes economic and social inclusion, gives freedom of movement and facilitates access to cultural and recreational activities.

These are the goals of the European Commission.

Both goals imply a deep change, to which everyone can contribute with a daily commitment: a lasting change that promotes more livable cities and a better quality of life that is health- and environment-conscious and respects the needs of all.

In 2019 more than 3,000 cities in Europe have joined the initiative, but only 100 Italians.We can do better! That's why the "SIMTUR Mobility Week" was born: to accompany our country's local governments and communities to take steps toward a cleaner future, for all...
