A hiking-level loop trek starting from the Hosteria di Villalba, accompanied by a licensed hiking guide. We are in the Monte Rufeno Nature Reserve, near the Villalba Park, where the particular north-facing exposure makes the climate cool and the tall-tree forest lush and rich in tree species such as hornbeam, chestnut, oak, and ciavardello that here enrich the surrounding oak grove of turkey oaks. The trail crosses forested tracts, small rural settlements, olive groves and gullies in the Reserve's extraordinarily beautiful territory between Lazio and Umbria.
