Festival of the Italian roast suckling pig

It was born in 1964 and is still one of the most renowned gastronomic festivals in Abruzzo. It is an event of great appeal especially because a competition is held between the various Abruzzo porchetta makers who compete for the trophy for the best porchetta! A recognition of prestige and pride for those who do this work during the year. The award is given by an expert commission of tasters to the one who manages to cook the dish in the best way following the ancient procedure. Exhibitions, musical concerts and conferences surround the event.
