Panonta Festival in Capricchia

On August 20, 2022 in the historic center of Capricchia, a hamlet of Amatrice, the Sagra della Panonta takes place-a mixture of religious event and food and wine event. It begins with the Stations of the Cross at Sacred Heart Mountain. This will be followed by a torchlight procession from the mountain down to the village of Capricchia around 9 p.m. Here, the Villa Capricchia Association, will give a first course, a panonta or guanciale cooked over embers and a glass of wine.
