Festival of Ancient Flavors
The event, organized by the "Pro Loco Gioiese," aims to "celebrate" the traditional dishes of local cuisine
In a nutshell
The protagonists of the evenings, in fact, will be the delicious dishes expertly prepared by our housewives. They will alternate in the various evenings, a wide range of delicious first courses:pappardelle, tagliatelle, scialatielli and fusilli "with porcini mushrooms," gnocchi with mutton sauce, tagliolini with beans and pork rinds, tagliatelle all'ortolana, spaghetti alla chitarra sausage and porcini mushrooms, tagliatelle provola and eggplant and......
To pave the way for traditional preparations:soffritto, tripe, pork with peppers, castrato stewporchetta - porchetta with porcinibruschetta with tomato and porcini mushrooms, roasted eggplant, stuffed peppers and eggplant, roast pork, veal, sausage, abbuoti, spiedinipizze fritte: with porcini mushrooms, with tomato, with porchetta, with ham and cheesepatatine frittatini fritters typical meats and cheesesfruit, desserts
All topped with award-winning oil from the hills of Gioia.
Particular care and attention is paid to the choice of wines, with the introduction of productions derived from ancient winemaking techniques of local farmers in addition to the classic and selected falanghina and piedirosso.
There is no shortage, for enthusiasts, of beer and liquor, of artisanal production.
