The Medieval Festival of Monteriggioni

Monteriggioni during the first and second weekends of July dresses in medieval costumes in one of the most evocative re-enactments in the province of Lucca. Street performers, music and dance performances, workshops and games aimed at the little ones and even a medieval market: all allow you to go back in time and participate in the festive atmosphere that involves the entire village. The festival begins with a sumptuous "Banquet at the Castle," held in Piazza Roma in the heart of Monteriggioni's splendid fortress. During the banquet, dishes prepared according to traditional recipes from the Middle Ages are served. A journey through time also through taste.
