The Sweet Flour Festival

On Easter Monday in Piteglio, the delicious "Sweet Flour Festival" is held. The event begins with necci and sausage sandwiches, and then continues with the opening of numerous food stands, which offer delicacies made from sweet flour, a typical product of the Pistoian Mountains. Kiosks are set up among the streets of the village, selling pancakes and sweet polenta, castagnacci and other local specialties, including those made with chestnut flour. In addition, it is possible to taste other local products such as cheeses, honey, jams and liqueurs. This is a great festival in which the entire village is immersed with the extraordinary opening of the Bell Tower and visits to the church, as well as the holding of traditional music concerts and entertainment shows for children.
