The Bigolada in Castel d'Ario

Since 1848 Castel d'Ario has held a historic event, that of the Bigolada. This is a special tradition involving several hundred people who participate from all over the province to enjoy spaghetti with sardines on the day that kicks off Lent. Stands are set up in front of the beautiful Tower of Hunger, and to complete the festive atmosphere, exhibitions are organized on the origin and tradition of this picturesque feast, and all restaurants in the town offer this dish so dear to the people of Castel d'Ario.
