The Ancient Fair of Grace

On the occasion of the Feast of the Assumption in the hamlet of Grazie in Curtatone (one of Italy's Most Beautiful Villages), the "Antichissima Fiera delle Grazie" is held every year. It is an event that unites the sacred and the profane and during which more than 200 Madonnari, from all parts of Italy and even from abroad, gather to create marvelous works of art on the night of August 14-15, painting images of sacred art with colored chalk on the asphalt of the square in front of the Sanctuary of the Blessed Virgin of Graces. On the day of the four-day festival, many events are scheduled including food stalls - in particular, one can taste the typical cotechino - markets, fun fairs and fireworks displays. All activities that will frame one of the most colorful and artistic events in the province of Mantua.
