St. Simon's Fair in Rolo

At the end of September in the municipality of Solo, the San Simone Fair is held, dating back to medieval times which over the centuries has adapted to become one of the most anticipated events in the area. The purpose of the fair is to promote and protect the traditions and culture of the area. A variety of activities are organized during the event, such as a workshop and storytelling on the art of marquetry - inside the Museum of Marquetry in Rolo - as well as exhibitions by local artisans and artists, and musical and recreational performances. Also on offer is a reconstruction of the medieval village - "Ars Mercatorum" - with period games and re-enactments of ancient crafts. There is also a restaurant inside the fair - "l'ustaria dal bever in vein" - which offers a menu with typical dishes made by the village's "sfogline" following the original recipes.
