Malvasia Festival

Among the streets and picturesque corners of the historic center of Settimo San Pietro, an event is held each year to celebrate Malvasia, a predominantly white grape variety. The wine made from it enjoys an intense aroma of apricot and white musk and a color between amber and golden. Knowledge of the characteristics of this excellent product mixes with the culture of Settimo San Pietro in three days of celebration. Ancient wine cellars - "magasinus" - are opened among the streets of the village, and itinerant tastings are offered by purchasing the tasting kit - consisting of a glass tumbler, cup holder strap and map of tasting points. There are tastings and samplings of local cheeses, cured meats and breads as well. There is no shortage of traditional Sardinian almond desserts, the perfect pairing with a glass of fortified Malvasia.
