Festival of the Lamps and of lu Cuturusciu

On this occasion, every narrow street, alley, square or courtyard in the historic center of the town of Lecce is transformed into a light show. Numerous lanterns, made strictly by hand by citizens, dot the evenings of the festival like stars. And like any self-respecting festival, there is no shortage of good music and especially good food! In fact, the second great protagonist of the evenings is the "Cuturusciu," a soft bread tarallo that in ancient times was prepared with what was left over from bread baking.
