In a nutshell
The Disfida del Bracciale has been held, continuously since 1979, on the first Sunday in August and is preceded by 10 days of festivities. It is one of the most cherished and special historical reenactments for the people of Treia. The village is plunged into an atmosphere of times gone by and is festively dressed with decorations that echo the colors of its four districts. A festival that evokes the 19th century, a time of great prestige and social and political change for Treia.
During the event, historical costumed processions are held, the village stores come alive, nobles stroll the streets of the historic center, and peasants sell the fruits of their labor. Theatrical and musical performances are held, as well as a procession reenacting the small community of "gypsies" who used to dwell in the oldest quarter of the town - Onglavina - where Longobard traces are still visible.
Taverns also stay open late into the night, offering typical menus of crispy crescia with field herbs, ciausculo, cheeses and local wines.
The most important day of the reenactment is Sunday, when the "Disfida del Bracciale" is held, the game of ball with the bracelet that sees the four districts compete in this ancient sport.
