Local products

What kind of products can I sell in the “Buy Local” section of SharryLand?

SharryLand promotes rural Italy and its unique traditions. This is why, in our “Buy Local” section, we highlight local food and wine products (for example, jams, cheeses, artisanal pasta, craft beers…) and handcrafted items created by small artisans and makers (wood, glass, fabric objects; accessories…) who use traditional methods and materials or explore innovative approaches.

What are products “box”?

The purpose of SharryLand is to promote a territory also through its flavours. For this reason, we ask sellers to offer not single products but “boxes”: a recipe box, a product box (e.g., 3 types of jam), or a mixed box (biscuits + jam + honey from the same producer).

We aim not to be a simple e‑commerce platform, but a tool that creates value as well as economy.

How do I enter a product?

After registering as a farm business or artisan, and after activating your Stripe account to manage payments, go to the “Manage your business” / “Manage sales and bookings” area. Here you can upload your Box or your handcrafted products by clicking on “Add offer”. Follow the guided process and, once the entry is complete, wait for the content to be reviewed by the editorial team.

Can I enter weight or size variants for a single product?

Yes. When creating your product, enter the Variants section. Select the weight, volume, size or color variants you want to include, one at a time. You can also vary the price for each combination.

Example:

  • Select the "Weight" variant from the drop-down and enter the value: 200gr. Click Save.
  • Select "Weight" again from the drop-down and enter another value: 100gr. Click Save.
  • Change the prices for the different packages: now your product is available in two variants, with two different prices.

I ran out of a product, where can I point to it?

You have two options:

  • You can suspend your product so it will no longer be searchable on the Map and purchasable: click on the product's three-dot menu and select Suspend.
  • You can put the availability at zero for the individual product or for a specific variant of your product: go into "Edit" from the product's three-dot menu and under Variants write zero in the Availability field.

Can I change the price of a product after publication?

Yes. The prices of your products are always changeable, even after publication. However, we advise you not to vary them too often.

Can I vary shipping costs for individual products?

Yes. When you create a product for the first time, you set the shipping costs, which will then be applied by default to all the other products you add. However, this field can always be edited, so you can adjust the shipping costs depending on the type of product you are selling.
Also remember to indicate the threshold above which shipping is free: besides being a service appreciated by users, it is also a strong point for promoting your products!

Can I apply promotions to my products?

Yes. Enter "Edit" in the three-dot menu of your product and go to the Promotions section, where you will find:

  • Last Availability: a promotion for the last pieces available. Indicate the quantity of pieces and the amount of the discount (e.g., for the last 5 pieces available, there is a 20% discount).
  • Promo: a generic promotion to highlight your product, you choose what discount to apply. Remember to deactivate it when no longer valid.

What are the guidelines for contents?

By publishing in the “Buy Local” section, you represent your territory, its traditions, and its unique features.

Here are some guidelines to help you do it at your best:

  • Your photos: Choose your photos carefully: front-facing, well lit, and in focus. If possible, use a background that represents your area or a characteristic element of your territory; otherwise, try to use a white background — we will help you create a more appealing backdrop.
  • Your text: When writing a description of your product, don’t limit yourself to listing its features. Talk about its story, the territory and how it influences its qualities, the tradition behind it, and — if you wish — you can also include related recipes or usage suggestions.

When we review your offer, we will help refine photos and texts, contacting you if necessary to ask for clarifications or interesting details that we could integrate into the description. We will also add useful data for SEO and search engine indexing!
