Ariosto's "Furioso" is the title of the animated tour interpreted by Alessandra Brocadello and Carlo Bertinelli, author of the texts, a brilliant work written for the 500th anniversary of the first publication of Orlando Furioso, suitable for adults, but also for families with children, due to the presence of fantastic heroines and puppets.

Palazzo Costabili, home of Ferrara's Archaeological Museum, is the sumptuous setting where teatrOrtaet traces the author's life, putting him in dialogue with the people who influenced his work and the fantastic characters he so effectively brought to life in his verse.

The bio-bibliographical itinerary starts from the year 1507, the date of the first mention of the Furioso in a letter that Isabella d'Este wrote to her brother Cardinal Ippolito. The poem must have been in the works for some years, and Ludovico cheers the marquise, prostrated by her third, difficult pregnancy (of Ferrante) by reading a few passages from the manuscript under elaboration.

Poetic license, in an ideal conjunction with the previous visit, already imagines here a confrontation with the other prima donna, Lucrezia Borgia, duchess of Este, who will appear again in 1517, when Ariosto refuses to follow Cardinal Ippolito to Hungary and thus seeks another master, finding service with Duke Alfonso, Lucrezia's consort.

Other key moments in Ariosto's life captured in the animated visit will be his falling in love with Alessandra Benucci, around 1513 (on this occasion we will find him debating with two of the female characters in The Furioso, Angelica and Bradamante about the power of women) and the last period of his existence when, less burdened with diplomatic commitments, he devotes himself with "fury" to the linguistic and content correction of the third to last edition of Orlando furioso.
