What we are going to do

How to make real Caslino d'Erba Caprino by retracing the traditional actions of the cheesemaker. We will milk the goats in the barn, then move with the freshly milked milk to the workshop. We will continue with curdling, then draining to obtain the Caprino cheese paste. We will then manually process the paste to obtain and make the famous Caprino di Caslino, which we can take home. To finish, snack for everyone!

It can be reached by car that can pass on mountain roads: there is a small ford to cross. You can park at the Forum Francescanum with private parking at the Crotto or close to the Crotto itself. To reach the Crotto on foot park in Piazza Giuseppe Mazzini in Caslino near the wash house and continue, once parked, down Via San Giuseppe reaching the Alto River (alpine hut). From there continue straight ahead. The walk takes 25 minutes. If you want to shorten the walk you can also park before the ford in the green space.
