Journey to the Middle Ages

Every year, for four days in August, the beautiful Finalborgo - a hamlet of Finale Ligure - puts on its medieval clothes. The streets of the village are invaded by fire-eaters, jugglers, musicians, flag-wavers, ladies and knights. At every corner, one can witness evocative and engaging performances, such as those of falconry and re-enactments of ancient crafts. Stores reopen their doors and a tasty medieval dinner at the "Locanda dei Cavalieri" is set up in the splendid Cloisters of Santa Caterina. For the duration of the event, the currency used is the "Finarino," that of the Marquisate of Finale.
