Eustace Barrel Palio

A summer event transplanted in the fall brings excitement and fun to November in Catania: we are in Riposto, in the province of Catania, and drummers and flag-wavers announce that the race is imminent. Teams from the different districts of Riposto prepare, each behind its barrel, to be rolled as fast as possible along the route to win the coveted Palio delle Botti di Eustachio. The event is not just a game, but an invitation to the population to come together, have fun together, and above all, celebrate Riposto's cultural heritage of winemaking and the construction of barrels to store the precious beverage.
