Palio Castrum Cinguli 1848

An event aimed at promoting and enhancing the customs and traditions of the nineteenth-century era and of the Cingolian tradition. Initially created with the intention of preserving the historic "Gioco del Pallone al Bracciale," it has become over time one of the most important historical reenactments in the Marche region. During the reenactment, the inhabitants of Cingoli wear historical costumes in processions through the streets of the village, re-enacting scenes of daily life in the 19th century, such as the washing of cloths, duels between gentlemen, shows and the game of pallone col bracciale held at the town arena, where teams from the terzieri of Santa Maria, San Nicolò and San Giovanni compete for the Palio, a wooden trophy made for the occasion. The Grand Ball then concludes the event, in general amusement dancing waltzes and quadrilles.
