The Festival of St. John

On the occasion of the feast dedicated to St. John, every year-on the last weekend of June-a festival is organized in Alassio focusing on the many traditional dishes and in particular on "sardine cine arascine," or a variant of stuffed anchovies Ligurian style. The sardines are sprinkled with breadcrumbs and chopped chard, parsley and other herbs. Cod fritters, octopus with stewed potatoes, and sweet apple fritters can also be enjoyed during the event. There is no shortage of shows, entertainment of various kinds, and animations for the little ones.
