In a nutshell
Carnival is always a fun and engaging celebration, but in Dicomano this occasion is also an opportunity to create real works of art. A tradition that began in 1964 thanks to the idea of Don Lino Checchi, a young parish priest from Impruneta.
In the Florentine municipality, the preparation of the floats begins several months in advance and involves long stages of planning and workmanship. The carristi-the volunteer and passionate artisans of the floats-give life to impressive and colorful creations that parade through the streets of the town, involving and cheering up all participants.
