Babel Film Festival

A festival that aims to enhance and promote film productions that are an expression of linguistic minorities and the uniqueness of their stories, culture and language. The competition is reserved for film works whose dialogues and texts are, in whole or in part, in a minority language, dialect, slang, dead language and in sign language. The objective of the Babel Film Festival is also to become an annual event for the city of Cagliari, which makes the Sardinian capital a place of confrontation and exchange that goes hand in hand with its vocation as a city where diversity meets, speaks and understands each other. It is also an important opportunity for those who in filmmaking, and more generally in art making, find a source of creativity in the diversity of minority languages, in their figurative and communicative power. The film competition is promoted and organized by: Società Umanitaria - Cineteca Sarda, Babel Cultural Association, Terra de Punt and Areavisuale.
