Bivongi, village of iron and wine

Bivongi, a Calabrian village rising on the slopes of Mount Consolino, has always been a highly industrious place, deeply connected to its land. Its historic centre unfolds in the characteristic maze-like pattern of this area, but beyond the churches, such as the mother church of Mamma Nostra, and its buildings, there are other treasures not to be missed. The Ecomuseum of the Ironworks and Foundries of Calabria is one of them: it tells the story of Bivongi’s mining past, as well as offering a taste of the prized Bivongi DOC wines born in the Stilaro river valley.
