The Giant Spit of Soligo

The one of 2024 will be the 67th edition of the Giant Spit. In the main square of Pieve di Soligo, expert hands will prepare the long spit "skewering" the various types of meat and the ever-present quail, which will slowly brown, giving off that unmistakable good smell. The spit is one of the oldest ways to roast and cook meat and in our days it is increasingly reminiscent of conviviality, days in the open air, and culinary fun. The choice of meats and game, the cooking methodology, the flavoring, the types of wood, the equipment used and the size of the spit, make the event unique. Throughout the event there will be many appointments with live music, challenges between contrade, games of yesteryear, non-competitive pedaling and much, much more. It will be a riot of taste, flavor and tradition.
