In the heart of Cilento, in the province of Salerno, trekking enthusiasts can treat themselves to a 4-hour adventure among the villages and nature of these mountains . The route, a mix of paved road, dirt road and trails, is challenging, especially for a couple of major climbs, but rewards hikers with enchanting views and surprises from very ancient history.
The route, in brief
The stages are not many: starting in Sant'Angelo a Fasanella, passing through Corleto Monforte, the summit of Monte Pruno and finally arriving in Roscigno. Each of the towns touched upon is an opportunity to rest, refresh and discover some interesting facts about life in the Alburni Mountains.
So let's lace up our boots: below is a layout with a proposed possible route, but you can choose other roads and trails. The important thing is to always check in advance the weather conditions and the walkability of the trails.
