The "animated visits" to Caffe' Pedrocchi on original texts by Carlo Bertinelli were conceived by teatrOrtaet in collaboration with Caffè Pedrocchi and the Department of Culture of the City of Padua, partners Banca Antonveneta and Fondazione Antonveneta, on the occasion of the 180th anniversary of Caffè Pedrocchi (1831-2011) and the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy (1861-2011).

The Student Festival was called on Feb. 8, 1900, recalling the fateful day of the insurrection in which students were protagonists in 1848, traces of which still remain in the white room of Caffè Pedrocchi, with the hole in the wall of an Austrian bullet fired during the clashes. Enter Arnaldo Fusinato, student, poet and editor of the weekly paper "Il Caffè Pedrocchi," and a mysterious "freshman," who hides feminine features and patriotic ardors behind student clothes. In stage fiction, behind the disguise is the young Erminia Fuà, also a poetess of Italian feeling.

The two "students," Arnaldo Fusinato and Erminia Fuà, are given the task of presenting the newspaper published between 1845 and 1848, while sketching student life through Fusinato's humorous verses from "The Student of Padua."

Among salons and cafes, amid Prati's poems and jokes against foreign rule, conspiracies come to life and the dramatic days of '48 are prepared.
