Festival of the Pumpkin and its Cappellaccio Ferrarese IGP

Since 2001, a festival has been held in the town of San Carlo at the end of August where pumpkin and Cappellaccio - or caplaz - Ferrarese IGP are the undisputed stars. During the event, traditional dishes prepared with zero-kilometer ingredients and from local suppliers are served with the aim of enhancing the territory. The event caters to adults and children by organizing various side activities, such as the presence of an inflatable area, a small amusement park and educational workshops. There are numerous food and wine stands where you can taste first courses, main courses, side dishes and desserts made with pumpkin and more. Don't miss the Heart Pumpkin Cappellacci, with walnuts and marsala, the most beloved of the entire festival.
