Rola Festival and Feast of the Horned Man

In November, during the days of St. Martin's Day, the village of Rocca Canterano prepares to host the Sagra della Rola and the Festa del Cornuto (Feast of the Horned One), poised between food and wine and mockery. The event celebrates those betrayed in love with a burlesque procession through the streets of the village carrying in procession the symbols of marital betrayal: horns! At the same time, food and wine stands offer consolation with local specialties: roles (roasted chestnuts), cecamariti (typical local pasta), sausage and chicory sandwiches, arrosticini, and wine galore!
