Words and stars: astronomy meetings

The Sormano Astronomical Observatory, the Gruppo Amici del Cielo (Friends of the Sky Group), the Municipality of Sormano and the Università degli Studi dell'Insubria (Insubria University) are organising a series of meetings entitled "Parole e stelle: incontri di astronomia aspettando il planetario" (Words and stars: astronomy meetings while waiting for the planetarium). The scientific programme will allow spectators to delve into some of the most recent achievements in astronomy accompanied by top-level speakers. It will also be an opportunity to visit the Larian Triangle because the meetings will be held in Como and in five towns: Sormano, Barzago, Arosio, Bellagio and Magreglio. And at the end of the lectures, weather permitting, everyone will be looking up to admire the night sky. We will hunt for one of the thousands of shooting stars that on these summer nights will 'cut' through the darkness of the night, bringing with them our wish and the hope that it will come true.
