The Maccaronara Festival
For more than 40 years, an event celebrating the dish of the Irpinian community
In a nutshell
Maccaronara is a type of pasta made by hand with water and flour. The process produces a type of long pasta with a triangular section that is well suited to different types of cooking. The special technique of preparing this type of pasta and the tool that makes it take on a triangular section, gives "Maccaronara" the characteristic that it cannot be produced by any kind of technique other than by hand.
The Maccaronara Festival is another great reason for a trip to the beautiful village of Castelvetere and an opportunity to get to know the Castelveteran communities. The typical local dish, blends with the flavors and music of the area creating an atmosphere of yesteryear by which one is easily captivated.
