The Honey Festival

With the aim of enhancing and promoting one of the main products of the economy of the municipality of Sortino, a festival dedicated to Hyblean honey is held every year on the first weekend of October. An excellent opportunity to taste honey, but also the many products made from this delicacy. Among the sweets, not to be missed are those of Sortino tradition, such as the "sfinci" - little balls of leavened dough, fried in oil and seasoned with honey - and the "piretti," hard cookies made of flour and honey, filled with almonds.
