La Pesa Vegia

Every year (for over four centuries) on January 5, an ancient event, the "Pesa Vegia," takes place in the town of Bellano. During the course of the day, every corner of the town hosts a different event, such as the corsa delle pese (a long line of cans dragged by children through the streets), the bonfire on the pier, and the reading of the Governor's edict, held on the balcony of the Town Hall. In addition, costumed parades and re-enactments featuring the Three Kings and the Befana are organized.
