The Maggiolata of Atri

Since the early 1900s, a parade of Aprutini wagons has been held during the summertime. This is a parade of wagons drawn by white oxen of a local breed that re-enacts Atri's oldest Maggiolata festival. The floats are decked out and festively decorated and carry musical storytellers who reenact the event of rural origin that originated around 1910.
