During the first three weekends of June in Oltrona al Lago-a hamlet of Gavirate-there is a festival dedicated to cherries. During the event, numerous types of the sweetest fruit can be tasted and purchased. In addition, a fun competition is also held - the "spudagianda" - a cherry pit spitting contest. There is no shortage of musical performances and a very rich program of side events.
