The Palio of the 10 Municipalities of the Montagnanese.

On the first weekend of September, a skill challenge is held in Montagnana between ten jockeys representing the Montagnana municipalities who ride bareback on the moat of the medieval walls. Each municipality is represented by a banner, which is escorted by the captain and armigers, followed then by ladies, notables and flag-wavers. There is no shortage of medieval markets, processions in period dress and performances for the occasion.
