The Easter Rising of Bormio

On Easter Sunday in Bormio there is a much-loved celebration, the Pasquali. This is a colorful parade along the streets of the historic center in which Bormio residents carry religiously themed handcrafted sedan chairs on their shoulders. They are followed by women, the elderly and children carrying flowers, rye bread and other small handcrafted creations. The parade travels down Via Roma to Kuerc Square, where it stops at the tolling of the Bajona, an ancient village bell.
