Medieval Festival in Fosdinovo

In the picturesque setting of the Malaspina castle of the village in the heart of Lunigiana, every year-the first weekend of July-an exciting historical reenactment is celebrated among dances, falconry shows, duels and fire games. Over the course of the two-day festival, the streets of Fosdinovo are filled with stands and kiosks with local delicacies, craft markets, re-enactments of court dinners and contests among the hamlets. The festivities are opened by the parade in period costume of the Marquis, followed by the guards and court.
