Feast of the Sensa

One of the most important traditional events is the Festa della Sensa (Feast of the Ascension). It relives the thousand-year history of the Serenissima Republic and its intimate relationship with the sea, the customs and traditions of Venetian-style rowing. A historic program, maintained from generation to generation, with its crucial events: the three regattas of the youth, women and men, the ceremony of the "Wedding with the Sea" in front of the church of San Nicolò del Lido, and the Holy Mass that is always well attended.
